The Indian Government ICCR Scholarships 2026/27 are among the most prestigious and popular scholarship opportunities for Sri Lankan students. The Government of India, through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), offers 200 fully funded scholarships exclusively for Sri Lankan nationals to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies at top Indian universities. Nearly 4,000 Sri Lankan students applied in the previous cycle, reflecting the enormous demand for this opportunity.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka
  • Age 18–40 years (UG/PG) or up to 50 years (PhD) as of July 1, 2026
  • Good command of English
  • Priority given to students who have never previously studied in India
  • Only one application per student is permitted — multiple submissions lead to disqualification

  2. Register and complete the online application form
  3. Upload required documents: academic transcripts, certificates, NIC/passport copy, English proficiency proof
  4. Submit only ONE application — multiple submissions result in disqualification
  5. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview
