The Australia Awards Scholarships are one of Australia’s most prestigious international development scholarships, offered by the Australian Government to support the next generation of leaders in Sri Lanka. This fully funded programme supports Sri Lankan citizens to undertake postgraduate (Master’s level) study at Australian universities, with the expectation that scholars return to Sri Lanka and apply their knowledge to contribute to national development.

Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka (not a permanent resident or citizen of Australia)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional work experience
- Hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field
- Demonstrate English proficiency
- Commit to returning to Sri Lanka for a minimum of 2 years after completing the scholarship
- Applications are strongly encouraged from women, people with disability, and applicants from priority districts: Jaffna, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Monaragala, Nuwara Eliya, Ampara, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Mannar, Vavuniya, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Badulla, Puttalam, and Ratnapura
