About the Course

The NAITA Caregiver Course is one of the most popular and widely available vocational training programmes in Sri Lanka. Conducted at district-level NAITA offices across the country, this 6-month programme trains candidates in professional caregiving skills with practical on-the-job training (OJT) at government hospitals. The course is essentially free of charge, making it highly accessible to youth island-wide.

Entry Requirements

No strict minimum academic qualification required for NVQ Level 3. Applicants must be between 18–45 years of age. Walk-in interviews are held at NAITA district offices across Sri Lanka.

Career Opportunities

The demand for certified caregivers is rapidly growing both in Sri Lanka and overseas. Graduates can work as caregivers in hospitals, elder care homes, and private households in Sri Lanka, as well as in Japan, Israel, Germany, and the Middle East. Starting salary ranges from LKR 30,000–60,000/month locally, with significantly higher earnings overseas.
